  • Service Satisfaction

    I value every client that I have the opportunity to service, and I appreciate your business. In the event that you are not satisfied, I ask that you please contact me within 48 hours of your original appointment to discuss options to rectify any dissatisfaction.

    Appointment Confirmations

    Squarespace confirms your appointment:

    At the time of booking your appointment through email.

    72 hours before your appointment by email.

    2 hours before by text.

    Please keep your information current so that you can be properly notified of your appointments.

    Deposits

    A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking for your services. This deposit goes towards your scheduled service. The remaining balance will be due at the time of your appointment.

    Rescheduling/Cancellations

    I only service one client at a time to provide the best possible experience. It is greatly appreciated to provide me with 48 hours notice in the event that you would like to reschedule. That way, I’m able to offer the time to another client. Please note that it is your responsibility to reschedule yourself.

    You are able to reschedule once for an appointment during the weekdays of Monday- Friday without any additional charges. If you need to reschedule more than once, there will be a rescheduling fee of $65 added to your services.

    If you need to reschedule after your initial appointment Saturday or Sunday, there is an automatic rescheduling fee of $65 added to your services. When an appointment is changed during my busiest days in the salon, it disrupts my appointment availability for other clients, and can even create large gaps in between appointments. I keep my books open, so you can always book closer to the appointment date. You can even use the appointment inquiry form for for last minute requests, contingent upon my availability.

    It is your responsibility to cancel your appointment online. If you cancel your appointment without notifying me that you will reschedule, your deposit is non- transferable as credit towards your next appointment.

    If there is any remaining balance after paying the applicable fees, it may be credited towards your next appointment.

    Tardiness

    Accommodating late guests is hard to achieve without disrupting every other client on the schedule. Therefore, I cannot guarantee that your services will be performed. If you are 15 minutes late or more to your appointment, we may have to cancel, modify, or reschedule your service depending on the number of clients I have.

    No Show Policy

    If you fail to show up without cancelling, it is considered a no show appointment. In order to schedule a future appointment, you will be required to pay 100% of the missed appointment, as well 100% of the next appointment in advance.

    Health + Safety

    I use an EPA-registered, hospital grade disinfectant after every client. My salon tools are also sanitized in the same solution.

    If you are feeling under the weather, please do not come to the salon. I will not be able to service you. The appointment will have to be rescheduled.

    Child Safety

    For safety reasons and insurance purposes, no child may accompany you while you are receiving a service. I cannot assure their safety in the salon. Thank you for understanding.

    Other Circumstances​

    Unforeseen circumstances happen to us all. In the event that I need to cancel your appointment, I will make every effort to reschedule it at a convenient time that works for you.

  • A curly cut is a modern cutting technique used to shape hair that has a swavy, wavy, curly, coily, or kinky texture. More than one of these textures can be found on the same head of hair. To achieve a curly cut, I use my signature hydrate + define method to set your unique curl pattern. After your curls are set, I create a custom curly cut suitable for your face shape, lifestyle, and the amount of hair I’m working with. All cutting is done on dry, curly hair.

  • The hydrate + define method utilizes products and technique to enhance your natural curl pattern. Most women have no idea know what their true curl pattern even looks like. During our appointment, I will introduce you to the curl pattern unique to YOUR head of hair. Just keep in mind that everyone’s curls are different. It really is something to be celebrated. My clients almost always tell me that they didn’t even realize that “their hair could do that.” “That” being the results achieved from my signature hydrate + define method, paired with a crafted, beautiful cut.

  • Curly cuts are most suited for women who rock their hair natural at least 80% of the time. It’s the ultimate liberation from the confines of relaxed hair, and specific to the woman who still wants her styling to have shape and intention.

    It isn’t the thing for you if you are unsure about wearing your own textured hair, or if you get your hair straightened often.

  • After booking your appointment, and to maximize your curl gains, I recommend that all new clients do the Curl Detox before our first appointment together. This detox isn’t mandatory. However, the detox will prepare your hair for whatever your ultimate hair goals are.

    The detox aids in the removal of buildup from all the ingredients that just sit on top of the hair cuticle. This prevents your tresses from receiving proper hydration during the cleansing and conditioning process. These ingredients leave you with hair that only mimic the look and feel of being healthy. Water, my tight curlfriends, is exactly what our hair needs to be truly hydrated and thrive. But more about that later…

    Instructions on how to complete the detox will be emailed after your appointment booking.

    Clients arrive with hair in varying conditions that can greatly impact the amount of time I spend detangling, especially if you are new to learning how to manage your tight curls.

    Normal detangling is included. However, if it's been over 5 days since you've thoroughly detangled your hair, you will incur a $65 detangling fee without exception. Please don't arrive to the salon with excessive detangling, and with more than 2 twists or braids.

    This measure is to ensure a timely flow to your appointment time.

    I suggest using The Doux Bee Girl styling foam to detangle, and if you need a quick, versatile styler get you through the day before your appointment.

  • Aftercare is minimal, and in between salon visits primarily require a consistent cleansing, conditioning, and styling regimen. Your frequency really depends on your needs, and desired look. Ideally, I would love for clients to cleanse, condition, and style no less than every 5 days, but no more than every 10 days. The timeframe for your maintenance cut will be discussed in salon.

    An aftercare summary, and list of recommendations will be sent to you following your appointment.

    Parking

    Street parking is available at no charge directly outside of the salon on the same side of the street.

    The parking garage is located at 5252 S. Cornell. After you park, please take the elevator to the first floor, exit, turn right, and you will find the entrance to the suites just around corner on 53rd street.
